Bloggers Quilt Festival meets Story Collection Gravity Blocks

Ha, doch noch fertig geworden!
Dieses Mal wollte ich gerne wieder was zum Bloggers Quilt Festival beitragen.
Das ist ein großes Blogger Ereignis, das zur gleichen Zeit stattfindet wie der große Quilt Market in Amerika.
Der ja dieses Jahr zur gleichen Zeit stattfindet wie die Nadelwelt in Karlsuhe!
Und da ich dafür schon so beschäftigt war, wusste ich nicht, ob und was für einen Quilt ich würde  präsentieren können.
Praktischerweise hatte ich noch die Test Stücke vom Verkleinern der Gravity Quilt Blöcke rumliegen.
Die hatte ich ja kunterbunt aus den Resten von den "Story Collection" Blog Party Stoffen genäht.
Ich wollte nicht unbedingt alle 18 Rauten nähen und habe verschiedene Möglichkeiten ausprobiert, wie ich sie zusammensetzen könnte.

Yay, just in time!
This time I wanted to participate at Bloggers Quilt Festival again!
It it not only at the same time as Quilt Market in the US but also at the same time as a market in Germany this year.
And as I was quilte busy preparing things for the booth for the shop I work in, I didn't know if I would be able to finish a quilt for this show!
But luckily enough there were those blocks from testing how to scale down the Gravity Quilt blocks!
I used the leftovers from the story collection blog party.
The blocks are very colorful :-)
I did not necesseraly wanted to make all 18 blocks.
So I played around with possible layouts:

Am Ende habe ich mich für Reihen entschieden.
Ich hatte Lust auf eine Art Sampler.
Endlich kamen meine gesammelten Schrift Drucke zum Einsatz ;-)
Und dann ging das Ganze recht flott und stressfrei zusammen.
Es war richtig lustig, den kleinen an der Stelle zusammen zu heften, an der vorher drei Wochen lang der 2,4 x 2,4 m original Gravity Quilt rumlag!

In the end I decided for "in a row".
I thougt it was fun to make something in a sampler style.
And I could make use of my collection af low volume text prints :-)
The quilt came together quickly and smoothly.
It was so cool basting the littel one at the same place where the huge original Gravity Quilt was lying around for about three weeks!

Dieser Zick-Zack Stich an der Maschine ist echt Gold wert!

I love this zigzag stitch!

I just can't get enough of solids an this little ruler!

Ich habe ein wenig rumgemalt und einen Block aus dem Julie Hermans Park Bench Buch erweitert.
Das hat mir total Spaß gemacht!
Und den Entwurf aus einer großen Auswahl Unis zusammenzusetzen auch.
Sogar gequiltet habe ich ;-)

I did a bit of drawing and extented a block out of Julie Hermans Park Bench Book.
That was fun!
And also choosing the colors out of a big stock of solids.
I even did a bit of free motion quilting ;-)

 
Und weil noch Zeit ist und man bei Blogger's Quilt Festival zwei Teile einstellen darf, tue ich das hiermit.
Wer hat noch Lust, zu stöbern?! Ich habe schon ein paar Favoriten und tolle Inspirationen!
Ich werde ihn auch in die Kategorie Mini Quilt stellen.
Er ist 35 cm im Durchmesser.
Genäht hauptsächlich aus Kona Cotton Solids.

Mein Mini Disco Quilt und Blogger's quilt festival

Oh, so ein Spaß!!!
Ich habe heute so eine Freude an meinem Mini Disco Quilt!

I had so much fun with my Mini Disco Quilt today! 

Geschnitten werden die Teile mit dem neuen Mini Hex N More Ruler.
Das Original kann man hier bei Jaybird Quilts sehen.

Da ich keine Lust hatte, gezacktes Binding zu machen, habe ich kleine schwarz-weiße Dreiecke angesetzt (war auch verdammt viel Arbeit, weil nicht geplant und mit Trennen verbunden...).
Und weil's so schön war, wurden die halben Diamanten am Rand ergänzt und auch mit schwarz-weiß aufgefüllt.
Ich hatte angefangen zu quilten und hab dann wieder aufgetrennt, weil mir das ganz glatte, klare besser gefallen hat.
So bunt  :-)))

I modified the pattern because I was too lazy for the angled binding...
So I added the little triangles and the half hexagons. It was a bit of work though.
So colorful :-)))
